On every engagement

Cyber threats are continuously evolving in sophistication and scale. Organisations of every size are targeted, and the consequences of a successful breach include financial loss, operational downtime, reputational damage and regulatory penalties. Around 63 percent of attacks go undetected for months, which is why detection, readiness and independent testing matter as much as the tools you buy.
Our team of certified security professionals brings extensive experience across penetration testing, vulnerability management, incident response and security architecture, along with the compliance knowledge to turn findings into evidence your clients and auditors will accept. We take a proactive approach, identifying and addressing weaknesses before adversaries can exploit them.
Our work aligns with the frameworks procurement teams, insurers and auditors recognise: ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus, PCI DSS, CIS v8, OWASP, NIST, PTES, MITRE ATT&CK and NCSC guidance. All testing is carried out by CREST and CHECK-qualified professionals, under NDA.
over 500 assessments delivered, critical findings alerted within 48 hours, and remediation guidance on every single finding.
Work is delivered by consultants who test and audit for a living, against recognised frameworks including Cyber Essentials Plus, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, CIS v8 and NIST. Findings are ranked by genuine exploitability rather than scanner severity, so your team knows what to fix first and what can wait, and every engagement ends with a clear view of where you stand, what it would take to close the gaps and who needs to own them.
Cyber Security
"Comprehensive cyber security solutions protecting your organisation from evolving threats, from penetration testing and vulnerability assessments to incident response planning and security architecture."

From a first independent assessment to a fully managed security function, we cover every layer of your cyber defence.

A defined sequence, agreed up front, with clear deliverables and decision points at every stage. Most organisations start with a short discovery call and a scoped assessment rather than a large programme.
A structured review of your technical estate, identity and access, backup and recovery, patching, email protection and supplier exposure, benchmarked against Cyber Essentials and ISO 27001 controls. Where it adds value, we include authenticated vulnerability scanning and Microsoft 365 or cloud configuration review.
Findings are ranked by real-world exploitability and business impact, with CVSS scoring and business context, giving you a costed remediation roadmap, quick wins that reduce risk immediately, and a clear shortlist of what to fix first.
We work with your IT team or MSP to implement controls, and can run penetration testing, phishing simulation, security awareness training and architecture changes where they add the most value. If you have no internal IT team, we can deliver the work ourselves.
Quarterly reviews, scheduled vulnerability tracking and incident readiness exercises, so the posture you built does not erode between annual audits, and so changes to your systems are reviewed as they happen rather than a year later.
Where a longer programme is needed, we phase it so value arrives early. The first assessment establishes a baseline and closes the issues carrying real risk, the second builds the controls that stop them returning, and later phases cover certification, supplier assurance and leadership reporting. Each phase is priced separately, reviewed in writing and can be paused, so investment follows your priorities and board appetite rather than a fixed multi-year commitment.

How you work with us matters as much as what we deliver. Every engagement starts with a short discovery call and a scoped assessment rather than a large programme, and scope, effort and cost are agreed in writing before anything starts.
A fixed-price review of a defined environment, delivered in weeks rather than months, with a prioritised roadmap and a debrief for your team and board.
An agreed number of assessment, testing and advisory days each quarter, so testing, remediation support and reviews happen continuously rather than in an annual panic.
Your security function outsourced, covering 24/7 monitoring, endpoint detection and response, patching, email and firewall management, backup validation and incident response.
Pre-agreed terms, named contacts and priority access to consultants, so support is available immediately when something goes wrong rather than after a procurement process.
A structured route to Cyber Essentials, Cyber Essentials Plus or ISO 27001, with gap analysis, control implementation and the evidence pack assembled as you go.
Strategic security leadership without a full-time hire, covering policy, board reporting, supplier assurance, security budgets and roadmap ownership.
We also provide awareness training staff actually complete, phishing simulation reported in plain language for management, and supplier due diligence when a new vendor needs assessing before go-live. Everything is documented in a form you can hand to an auditor, an insurer or a client's procurement team, and nothing depends on us staying engaged: the aim is a position your own team can maintain with the tools and knowledge already in place.

A clear, evidence-based view of where you actually stand, from consultants who test and assess for a living, with no vendor products to sell you.
Weaknesses are found and fixed before they are exploited, and the ones that remain are contained faster because your team has rehearsed.
Reports and controls that support ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus, PCI DSS, UK GDPR and sector requirements, written for both technical teams and boards.
Risk-ranked roadmaps direct spend to the changes with the highest risk reduction, so quick wins land early while longer projects are planned properly.
Documented plans, playbooks, standards and training mean your organisation is more capable after every engagement, not dependent on us.
over 500 assessments delivered, critical findings alerted within 48 hours, remediation guidance on every engagement, and four times faster containment for clients with tested incident response plans.
You also gain a partner who will tell you plainly when something is not worth buying. We do not resell security products, so advice on tooling comes from what your estate actually needs rather than from a margin, and recommendations are prioritised by risk, effort and cost so they can be absorbed into existing budgets. Where an internal team or managed service provider handles delivery, we work alongside them with clear ownership and handover notes rather than parallel reports that contradict each other.

If your question is not covered here, a consultant will answer it directly, with no sales script.
Should we do Cyber Essentials or go straight to ISO 27001? If clients are asking for a basic security baseline or you are bidding for public sector work, Cyber Essentials is the faster route. If contracts require a management system or you handle sensitive data at scale, ISO 27001 is the better destination, and Cyber Essentials becomes a milestone on the way. We can scope both, and tell you plainly which one your clients will actually accept.
How often should we run penetration tests? Most organisations test annually, but anything that changes your attack surface should prompt a review: a new application, a cloud migration, a major infrastructure change or a new regulatory obligation. We recommend a cadence based on your risk profile, the data you hold, and your clients' expectations, and we will say if an annual test is more than you need.
What happens if we have already been breached? Contain first, then investigate. We help you stabilise the environment, preserve evidence, establish how the attacker gained access, and close that route in before restoring services. We then manage the notification decisions that follow, including the ICO 72-hour reporting window, and build the incident response plan and controls that prevent a repeat.
Can you work with our existing IT provider? Yes. We regularly work alongside in-house teams and managed service providers, providing independent assurance and clear, prioritised guidance rather than duplicating what your team already does. Findings are written so your provider can action them directly.
What does an assessment involve commercially? Scope, effort and cost are agreed in writing before anything starts, with no surprise line items. A focused vulnerability assessment or single-application penetration test typically runs over a few days, an architecture review over four to six weeks, and incident response planning over two to three phases. Fixed-price options are available for well-defined scopes.
Can you handle security on an ongoing basis, not just one-off tests? Yes. As a managed security provider we can take on 24/7 monitoring and alerting, endpoint detection and response, patching, email and firewall management, backup validation, identity controls and incident response, with one team accountable for all of it and monthly reporting against agreed service levels.
Do we need data protection support too? Often, yes. If you handle personal data at scale, the practical answer usually combines technical security with UK GDPR obligations: records of processing, privacy notices, subject access handling and, in some cases, an outsourced Data Protection Officer. We provide that support alongside the technical work so the two are consistent rather than contradictory.

Client reviews
We use Acorn Web Studio for all our website maintenance and SEO marketing for our car body shop repair business. Since they have taken over the SEO we have seen an increase in business locally, which is what we were after. We will soon have them redesign our website.

We are a UAE Dubai based business. We needed a new website built to showcase our products and provide information through our website to our clients. At the same time we required digital marketing to be carried out, in particular SEO and LinkedIn Marketing. We partnered with Acorn Web Studio in the UK because the agencies in the UAE let us down time after time. Since we started our working relation we have not looked back. They not only built our website but uploaded 100 products and improved our SEO Google position and LinkedIn profile.

Acorn Web Studio built our new website after we had several issues with our old one and had no support from our previous designer based overseas. They built us a new website and now support us with ongoing maintenance and SEO. Highly recommended.
